The Stain Fight Results, Stage One

I've completed what I'm going to call stage one of my fight against stains on my cloth napkins.  The use of the words 'stage one' gives you insight into the results.  Upon completion, I discovered that I had created...

Drumroll, please!

More stains!!!

I expected this before I began, actually.  I wanted to see how it would work, though.  I did notice something rather interesting.  When I inspected the stains, I discovered that they were focused on areas that the more solid pieces of sauce had congregated.  That being the case, it makes me want to try again.

Yeah, I know.  I'm nuts.  After all, I know that I can do a proper job by boiling specific vegetables or roots, straining them, and then using something like vinegar to set the dye.

But I like doing things the hard (and irrational) way.  It's fun, after all.

So now I'm going into Stage Two.  In stage two, I'm going to strain the small pieces out of the pizza sauce mixture that I saved.  I'll then go through the process of boiling and soaking, yet again.

Will this give me a more viable result?  I seriously doubt it.  It'll be interesting to see just what happens, however.

As of now, this project is a failure.  Let's see what I can do with stage two, though!
